Outfit Narrative for Poszetka - “Summer Essentials”

Together with the guys at Poszetka, we created a few summer pieces to complement every wardrobe, designed for days no matter where they take you and made to be worn on any occasion.

Summer Shirt

I couldn’t find the right shirt that I could wear on most days, all summer long. A shirt that doesn’t feel too formal, but also not completely relaxed, like a classic camp-collar shirt.

That’s why I wanted to design this new “Summer Shirt.” I took inspiration from a classic military overshirt and changed a few details - I made the collar larger and adjusted the hem and length. But the main difference is the cut, which is relaxed but not oversized, because it’s meant to be worn without any layers under it. I also made sure the proportions are right, so it looks great worn untucked or tucked into trousers.

We made this shirt in two versions. The first is in an off-white Oxford cloth, making it incredibly versatile. In this fabric, you can wear it with jeans to the office, or with swim shorts to the beach, and everything in between. It looks great even with a suit!

The second version is a full-on summer vibe in light blue seersucker, which looks best paired with shorts or linen trousers.

Pleated Shorts in Khaki

The shorts are based on Poszetka’s pleated shorts from last summer, but I wanted to make them as versatile as possible, so I went with a classic beige (khaki) colour and, instead of herringbone twill, I picked cotton twill. I also removed the cuff, so you can do a turn-up yourself if you want them a bit shorter. These are as classic as shorts can be.

Navy Seersucker Suit

I also wanted to make a summer suit that feels more casual but is still very wearable and versatile. So I went with a simple, single-breasted cut with a curved barchetta chest pocket and patch side pockets. The trousers come with a high waist, side adjusters, and cuffs at the bottom. As for the fabric, I decided to go with seersucker, so the suit has that extra summer feel, but the solid navy colour makes it more versatile, making it suitable for all possible summer events and occasions.

Bandana

I wanted to add one accessory that is very wearable and practical, and a bandana is something you can wear basically all year round. I decided to go with classic navy and red versions, but not in a classic Western way. Instead, I decided to go back to our “A Tribute to Ivy” collection and use its story and crest to create the graphic for the bandana.

This bandana is very special to me, as it carries the tagline of the previous collection: “Earned Kin - united around shared values and appreciation of tradition, craftsmanship, and the stories behind what we wear.” But it is also special for another reason, as I already mentioned while explaining the story behind the Ivy collection. It is not only about my relationship with Poszetka, but also about the menswear community and everything that Outfit Narrative is about - people who care about what they wear, the craftsmanship that goes into making these pieces, and the tradition that ties it all together.

So, these are what I consider “Summer Essentials” - classic pieces that should complement every man’s summer wardrobe.

The Pink Ivy Popover Shirt has also been restocked just in time for summer, and there are still a few baseball caps left, which is one of my personal summer essentials as well.

“Summer Essentials” launches on June 9th. You can check the official lookbook here.
