Sartolane - Timeless Leather Belts and Bags Made in Poland
I discovered the brand around 5 years ago, when I stumbled upon their 1” brown suede belt for the first time and ordered it the same day, and I have been wearing their belts ever since. Sartolane is a Polish brand making timeless leather accessories, focusing on handcrafted leather belts and bags, but they also make wallets, portfolios, and some other leather goods. The brand was founded in 2013 by two guys with the idea of countering fast fashion and offering better quality products that would last at fair prices - it was about “buy less, buy better.” A few years later, they parted ways, and now the brand is run by Mateusz Łohutko, one of the co-founders.
They produce everything locally, which I saw firsthand when I visited their newly opened workshop on the outskirts of Warsaw at the end of 2024. I spent a few hours with Mateusz chatting about product design, development, and production. Just recently, they also moved their office into the same building so they can be as close to the workshop as possible.

In the main workshop they produce all bags and work on prototypes, while the belts are made in another workshop. The company is currently at a size where they employ 6 people, and they also collaborate with around 15 more on a regular basis. All their products are handmade, and one of the reasons they are able to provide that level of quality at this price range is because they only sell directly to the consumer.

They are constantly looking for ways to improve their products, and they also offer a 5-year guarantee on many products, as well as services like renovation or repair to extend a bag’s life rather than replace it. They also offer a buy-back program, repurchasing used bags to refurbish them and give them a second life.
The newest addition to their website is the “Create your Bag” - a customizer, where you can choose leather colors, interior layout, hardware finishes, and different details to create a version of their classic bag to your own taste.
As I said, I have been wearing their belts for more than 5 years now - I probably have their 1” belt in almost all suede and leather colors, and they have held up really well - basically all of them still look perfect. I also own a couple of their bags - a few totes and one Everyday Briefcase. You know how much I love tote bags, and their Tote Bag is one of my all-time favorites - the size and proportions are perfect, and the quality is solid. Overall, their bags are probably the best value for money you can get. Just don’t expect the level of craftsmanship and details that you get from brands that cost triple the price or more.
Their products are available exclusively through their website. So if you’re looking for a well-made leather belt or everyday bag at a fair price, check them out here.
