Things I like this month - May 2025

'Things I Like This Month,' is a monthly newsletter where I share things I genuinely like or that stood out to me and felt worth talking about.

Everything you read in this article is my honest opinion, and nothing is paid for. I’m always excited to see new quality products and discover new brands or makers, so I’m always very happy when you guys send me suggestions or something you think I might like.

Myrqvist Mölle II tassel loafers

It’s getting warmer and many people will soon put away all oxfords and derbies for the next couple of months and replace them with tassel loafers which are the most elegant alternative for summer. Mölle II from Myrqvist has the nicest shape and proportions of all the more affordable brands. With loafers it’s always tricky because no matter how much you like them, if the last doesn’t work for your feet, you have to forget about them. Myrqvist has just recently updated all their loafer silhouettes and I’m happy to let you know that not only do they look great, but I also find the updated fit really good. The shoe is well-made, and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a new pair of tassel loafers. I got the dark brown suede option, which is maybe just a bit darker than I prefer, but they are also available in a lighter shade of brown suede and black and brown leather. They recommended sizing down half a size on this model, and that worked for me.

Poszetka Tonal Capsule Collection

I liked a lot of pieces in neutral tones from this spring-summer collection and after I saw them in person, touch them and try them on, I can tell they are even better! And I’m really proud of how this capsule collection turned out. The collection is selling really well, so if you want any item I suggest you get it before it’s too late! And don’t forget, OUTFITNARRATIVE will get you a 10% discount.

Serica Ref. 6190 Commando

There are plenty of simple field watch options available, and I’ve been thinking about all of them for way too long. I find that most of them try to look vintage but struggle to do so and end up looking modern because the execution and details are off. But this Serica is very different. It’s clear that it was inspired by field watches from the '50s, but it’s also clear that this watch is how they imagine a field watch today. I picked the commando dial because I think the dial with Roman numerals is the most balanced of all options. I think it’s enough to tell you that I have been wearing this watch for 20 days straight since I got it.

Pedemeia invisible socks

I prefer to wear loafers barefoot, but I would never do that with sneakers. Pedemeia makes some of the best value socks on the market, and if you are not yet familiar with the brand and need a new pair of no-show socks, you should seriously consider trying them out. They offer different shapes of invisible socks, so I would recommend trying different options, except the one with the highest instep, as this will cause your socks to peek out of your footwear. Pick the pair with the lowest instep if you want to wear them with loafers, or the mid instep for sneakers. I would also suggest you try different fabric options to figure out what works best for you, but to be honest, so far I haven’t really noticed any notable differences between them. Maybe the difference will be more obvious in hot summer temperatures.

Rubato Yacht Club capsule collection

Rubato released their Yacht Club capsule collection, which consists of essential pieces for a perfect summer outfit: navy striped polo shirt and white shorts, a navy knitted sweater for cooler evenings, and a canvas tote bag to carry your stuff to the beach. They nailed the relaxed day-on-the-beach vibe.

Bonnegueule Numana polo in olive

I love the aesthetic of this polo, but I’m also happy to let you know that the fit is fantastic as well. Since it has a very obviously visible knitted pattern, it’s definitely one of the more elegant polo shirt options and will look best with tailoring. This washed olive color is really versatile but will look best with light-colored trousers.

Goral x Garmsville Deck Shoe

It’s no secret that I really love the simple aesthetic of a deck shoe. Unfortunately, there are only a few good makers left, so I was really excited when I saw that the English brand Goral announced their new deck shoe, made in collaboration with Garmsville and produced in the UK. There’s not much to say about the design - it’s still a deck shoe - but it’s the best quality option you can find. It’s leather-lined and made from herringbone-textured waxed cotton canvas.

Informale Linen Jungle Jacket in Light Brown exclusive for Pauw

The jungle jacket is a staple in a spring-summer wardrobe, but not everyone likes the military appeal of this iconic piece. This version from Informale, made in light brown linen, is a very elegant take on the style. The fabric is perfect for summer, and the color is extremely versatile, it works well with both elegant and very casual outfits.
