Things I like this month - September 2026
'Things I Like This Month,' is a monthly newsletter where I share things I genuinely like or that stood out to me and felt worth talking about.
Everything you read in this article is my honest opinion, and nothing is paid for. I’m always excited to see new quality products and discover new brands or makers, so I’m always very happy when you guys send me suggestions or something you think I might like.
TMBS - Rugby Shirt
This year, I designed a rugby shirt in collaboration with Poszetka, but we made a version that’s a bit more elegant, with a bigger, pointier collar that’s a bit easier to wear with shirts and tailoring. But for this autumn I was looking for a classic version, with a more casual and sporty cut, so I went and compared most of the brands that currently make them. What’s very interesting is that it’s really hard to find one that’s still made in England. The Multibrand Store just released their own version under their own label, TMBS, and this one is a proper, classic rugby shirt, made like they used to be: with a stiff collar that will stay up, rubber buttons, a covered placket, and ribbed cuffs. The 300g cotton they use is also woven in the UK using machines from the 90s, so this fabric will soften up and beautifully age with wear. Considering all that, this might also be one of the best-value rugby shirts on the market right now. I got the classic navy version, but it’s available in 6 other colours as well. The green and white striped and navy and pink versions look great as well! The fit is generous, so you can easily wear it over a button-down shirt. I sized down to M, and the fit is perfect.
OrSlow OG-107 Fatigue Trousers & Shirt
But please, not worn as a set. As I mentioned a couple of times already, I haven’t had a pair of fatigue pants for years, mostly because I don’t really feel comfortable wearing them. I always feel like I’m doing a military uniform cosplay. But I decided it might be time to overcome this and try them again.
Among all the quality options currently available, I believe these from OrSlow offer the best fit and value. They are a very accurate reproduction of the originals, so they have a very high rise and a roomy, straight leg. I got a pair in size 3, and they fit me really well. If I tighten the side adjusters, I don’t even need to wear a belt. However, these might not be the best option for taller guys. I’m 180cm tall, and the length is almost perfect. I just need a small turn-up to show my ankles, so if you’re over 185cm, this might be a problem.
This spring, I sold the Tellason HBT Fatigue Shirt I had in Medium because it felt too slim, and I replaced it with the OrSlow Fatigue Shirt in size 4, which fits me much more loosely, exactly as I wanted. But there’s not much else to say about it, other than that it’s a very accurate reproduction of the Type III Fatigue Shirt, made from cotton sateen fabric (the same as the pants mentioned earlier) that ages beautifully with wear.
So far, I’ve only washed them once, and I can already see the difference in colour, so they will only get nicer over time.
The new Gallet Classics
Exactly 200 years after the brand was established, Gallet is back with its first modern collection and is now part of the Breitling “House of Brands”. When the acquisition was announced over a year and a half ago, I was excited to see what they would do with it, and I think the new lineup is versatile enough that there might be something for everyone.
It looks like they are developing two sections: one with new models available at very competitive prices, and the other with the Classics, which are more accurate remakes of specific historic models that stay very close to the original designs.
Of the new models, I like the Flying Officer Automatic 40 and Multichron Sport Chronograph 41, but I actually much prefer the Classics. The 38mm case just shows why most vintage watches have a unique charm and wear so well, and with Breitling’s B09 Manufacture movement and open caseback, I think this watch is a very sweet package. After trying on all of them, I think the size and proportions are perfect.
I find the Tribute to Multichron 45 and the Tribute to Silverlight much more interesting than the Tribute to Yachting Big Eye. The Multichron 45 has that very classic military aesthetic, so it might be a bit too similar to many other military-inspired watches. For me, the Tribute to Silverlight is a little more distinctive, but also more versatile.
Fortela x Rocky Moutain Featherbed Down Vest
Last year, Fortela released a few really beautiful vests in collaboration with Rocky Mountain Featherbed, and they sold out fast. So I was happy to see that they restocked the navy and burgundy versions today, and released a new green version with a brown suede yoke.
They also released a few Christy vests, but for a vest, I prefer the collar of the classic down vest over the Christy’s shearling collar. I think these down vests are really well executed, and since they are exclusively made for Fortela, they will probably sell out fast again, so don’t wait if you have your eyes on any of them.
I like all the colours, but I already have an emerald green Fortela vest, so I’m leaning a bit more towards the burgundy version, as this colour seems a bit more versatile for my personal style.
Suede Jacket
I think I have said this already too many times, but I really like the aesthetic of leather jackets, even though most of them just don’t work for me. Based on what I’ve been able to try on so far, though, suede jackets suit me and my style much better.
So I’m thinking it might be time to get my first suede jacket this season. And there are actually a few that I really like and think could work really well for me.
Drake’s Chore Coat in suede might be one of the most versatile options, because it can be worn with both casual outfits and tailoring. If you want a bit more of a Western vibe, there’s this one with a leather collar from Fortela.
For more casual wear, though, I actually prefer a shorter style, like this Colin Lined Suede Leather Bomber Jacket in tobacco from Valstar, or the Cossack Jacket from Brycelands. The suede Type II from Y-2 also looks fantastic.
Then there’s a third option: a suede overshirt, and I love this one from Fortela.
And the last option, which might be the coolest but also the least versatile unless you own a ranch, is this one from Shangri-La Heritage.
Poszetka Fall & Winter ‘26 Collection & Lookbook
Over the last couple of weeks, most brands have already released their Autumn/Winter collections, or at least part of them. This is always the most exciting part of the year for clothes, because these collections offer the most opportunities for layering.
I think the guys at Poszetka did a great job this year, and the new collection is solid. The colours and fabrics they put together in this lookbook look great, too.
There are a few pieces that stood out to me, like the Multi-Coloured Check Tweed Sportcoat. I also think the Light Beige Herringbone Flannel Double-Breasted Sportcoat is a very clean and understated piece that might be a lot more versatile than it seems. Of course, the raglan coats are amazing, and they are selling fast, so I recommend securing yours before it’s too late again. The tie selection is also fantastic this season.
Rings with Stones
This summer, I got myself my first silver ring, and after a couple of months, I added two more. But I realised they are all similar in shape and style, so I’ve been thinking about what other styles I should add to balance them out.
One option is definitely cleaner, simpler rings, but another style that could work well might actually be even louder: stones. The boldest options are turquoise stones, which are often part of Native American jewellery, but there are also other options that are a bit more toned down.
I think I might soon explore more of them, as I’m currently looking at this Blue Bird Braid Ring from Red Rabbit Trading & Co. Maybe I should start with something smaller, like the R-081 Flat Hammered Ring Silver With Turquoise from First Arrow’s, or the W-027 Ring Turquoise 900 Silver from North Works.
Or maybe I should go with a lighter colour, like the Pink Rhodochrosite Signet Stone Ring from Red Rabbit Trading & Co, or this Amazonite Stone Rectangle Signet Ring from Coutumes. The latter has a somewhat similar vibe to Native American rings, just a lot more toned down, but it’s a really beautiful stone.
Then there’s the most subtle option with a stone that I’ve found so far: the Silver Camouflage Ring from Serge DeNimes. The same style is also available in Silver Mother of Pearl, which is the most neutral of all, but also a really interesting option.
I’ll definitely keep you posted on this.
Suede Chukka Boots
When the colder season comes, I have a hard time accepting that I won’t be able to wear loafers basically all the time. And when I think about which other shoes I like and think work best with my style, a chukka boot is always the first that comes to mind.
Chukka boots are a style that basically all footwear brands make, but only a few do well. Most traditional brands have a shape that is too pointy and elegant in my opinion, so they might not look good with very casual outfits. I also prefer a chukka with a leather sole, because otherwise, it isn’t really useful in bad weather. Based on just these two criteria, we eliminated a lot of the options available.
But there are a few great ones, like the Harry from Sanders, Izoard from Malfroid, Voyager from August Special, 1273S from Alden, or Field Chukka from Viberg, made in collaboration with ACL. There is also a very interesting Moc Toe Chukka from Morjas, or the Aldo from Tricker’s if you want something with three lace holes.
